Membership

The CFB Esquimalt Power Boat Club is open to all members of the Regular and Reserve Force and to DND Civilian Employees, as well as to other Federal Services. Individual membership fees are $25.00 (+ $3.00 HST) per year. New members are always welcome.  The membership application form is found on the next page.

There are 3 Types of Membership: Regular, Ordinary & Associate...

Regular:

The following persons are eligible for membership in this category:

  • Members of the regular forces, and reserve forces while on Class "B" and "C" reserve service and their dependants; and
  • Foreign military personnel and their dependants, on duty with the Canadian Forces.

Ordinary:

Subject to the approval of the Base Commander, the following persons may be invited to become members under this category. This category of membership shall be for a period of 12 months with no written or implied assurance of future 12-month renewals:

  • DND Public Servants including casual employees and civilian employees under full time contract to DND and their dependants;
  • Former members of the regular forces and their dependants, who qualify for an annuity under the CFSA or DSPCA or for a pension under the Pension Act;
  • Widows/widowers of regular force personnel receiving a benefit under the CFSA or DSPCA or for a pension under the Pension Act;
  • Members of the RCMP, Canadian Corps of Commissionaires or other security forces and their dependants, when resident in Victoria or employed by DND; and
  • Former civilian employees of DND who are in receipt of, or are eligible for pension benefits as a result of their DND employment.

Associate:

Subject to the approval of the Base Commander, any person not specified as a regular or ordinary member may be invited to become an associate member. This category of membership requires sponsorship in the form of a letter by a Regular Club member. Should the application for membership be accepted, it shall be for a period of 12 months with no written or implied assurance of future 12-month renewals. Associate memberships are reviewed on an annual basis and must be voted in and approved each year during the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

It is the responsibility of each member to:

  • advise the club ASAP of any changes in status which could have an effect on their membership type;
  • advise the club ASAP of any transfer of ownership or sale of moored vessels;
  • advise the club ASAP of any change of address or phone number; and
  • ensure that a current proof of insurance is held on the Club files for any and all vessels/trailers moored/stored on DND property.
